Apple Pie
Ingredients
1 recipe double crust pie dough
¾ cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
7 tart apples (Jonathans, about 2 lbs)
1 recipe double pie crust
1 tsp butter
1 ounce milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Mix the sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.
Peel the apples and pare them thinly.
Add the spice mixture and mix well. Set aside.
Make the pie crust. Fill pie.
Dot with butter.
Put top layer on and seal it. Brush around the edges with milk.
Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes. Then lower heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
