Pecan Pie - Wilma
Ingredients
3 eggs
½ cup dark corn syrup
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
¼ cup melted butter
1½ cup pecan halves
1 8" pastry shell
Directions
Beat the eggs until just blended, but not frothy.
Add the corn syrup, salt, vanilla, sugar, melted butter, and pecan halves.
Pour into the pastry shell.
Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes. Filling should appear slightly less set in center than at outer edge. It will become firm when cool.
Notes
For extra deep pie, pour filling into 7-inch pastry shell. Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes, then at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes.
